CSR Racing Takes SORCS Championship

Scott Rogers Wins ATV Pro Championship

In a great display of speed, skill and timing, Scott won the last race of the 2007 SORCS series at Broad River. In doing so, he captured the ATV Pro Championship!

Rewind to the first race of the series, it looked like he would need luck to finish in the top ten! At Aonia, after winning his class in the GNCC, he was charging in second place chasing down the leader when the unspeakable happened. He came riding into the pits with a course worker. His bike was beside the trail leaking oil and unable to run. It was a terrible feeling and the entire family was wondering what was going to happen. With help from our sponsor, Shamrock Honda, we were able to get the bike repaired, as good as new, and made it to round 2. Scott never gave up. Scott NEVER gives up! He put his head down, endured dust, dust and more dust. The heat was extreme and the competition was incredible. All year long we had GNCC regulars show up to fight it out in the Pro class. Scott knew he had a huge hole to dig out from. He also knew if couldn't win the championship if he didn't finish every race. He also knew there were several competitors that would no give up or give an inch. Zach Lovell was digging out from the same hole, as he also had terrible luck in round one. Every point mattered. Every person that was passed meant that much more. Sound easy, but in most of the races, the competitors could see five feet ahead of their quads. Just being on the track was a risk. If you didn't get off the line first, you were fighting for vision, and lucky if you finished.
With four wins out of eleven races, you would think the championship would be a given, but along with the wins, Scott also scored a 8th, 7th, 5th, two 4ths, a third and two seconds. This was not an easy series, I can't emphasize the dust problem enough. It was very dangerous at the majority of the races this year. We would like to congratulate all the great competitors in the Pro class. They race hard, they never give up, but they always race clean and respect each other.
We are very proud of Scott and congratulate him on his accomplishments this year.

Cam Rogers gets 3rd Overall in A Class

When the 2006 SORCS series ended, we tried to talk Cam into remaining in the Fourstroke B class. He would have none of it. He was ready to move up. He knew the competition would be stiff, he knew it would be hard to finish the season on the podium. He started the 2007 season in the Fourstroke A Class. The competition was stiff, the season was difficult. Sometimes it was discouraging, but Cam hung in, stayed consistent and it paid off.
The series had a tough start, but the competition was stepped up when Austin Allen moved to the A class after a win in the B class. Cam came out with a 3rd place overall in the ATV A class. He had to wait until the last race of the series for his best finish. Cam was very consistent this year, with average finishes of fourth place. In the last race, at Broad River, Cam rode the best race of his young career finishing 2nd! Holding off a charging Austin Allen to cross the finish line in 2nd was a real rush. Another memorable moment in the '07 series was also at Broad River when Cam had a heated battle with Mike Newsom Sr. Cam and Newsom banged bars all race, with Cam coming out on top. Cam had a great series finishing a solid 3rd place, missing second place by a mere six points! Finishing in the top three in such a competitive class, especially at 15 years of age is quite an accomplishment. Congratulations Cam on a great finish. We are very proud of you.

We would also like to thank all of our friends. The friends we have made over the seasons are some of the nicest people we have had the pleasure of meeting. The racing is fun and exciting but good friends make all the difference in the world. We have so much fun racing and visiting with our race family. I personally want to thank Brenda for her support and level head during the race season. She holds everything together, she is always calm and positive. On race day, she is all over the track to get pictures of her boys and racing friends. It is a blessing to have such a wonderful "team partner".

Until the next race, take care, God Bless, later.........
