The Ridge Team Race May 10th

Strickland and Rogers Rock the Ridge!
The Georgia Crew invade Alabama

On Saturday, May 10th, Scott hitched a ride with the Strickland family and crossed the state line into Alabama to compete in a Team Hare Scramble endurance event. Blake Strickland was on board his new KTMWorld sponsored KTM 525. This was Blake's first race on his new ride, with no testing. He had actually bolted on his suspension and wheels a couple of days before the race. Scott was aboard his Shamrock Honda, Moose Racing, Bearden Race Fuels sponsored TRX450R. Scott was testing new suspension settings. They had actually showed up at the race to have a little fun and test.
They showed up at the track and setup pits along Michael Tatum and his crew. This race had the ingredients for a fun day of laid-back fun for the Georgia boys. Then the checkered flag dropped. Blake and Scott immediately made their way to the front. Oh, I forgot to mention that Blake and Scott were not teaming up for this race, they planned on running the entire race! Yes, they were going to Ironman the race. For three hours Blake and Scott pushed theirs ATV's to the front of the pack, racing hard a swapping the lead a few times. Scott fell back to third after pitting, but quickly repassed for second. While the team riders swapped out the racing duties, Scott and Blake charged for the entire race making fast pit stops for fuel and a little fluids. When the race was over, it was Blake Strickland taking first place with Scott Rogers in second. Blake's time was 2 hours 55 minutes and 10 seconds with Scott just 3 seconds back. Blake and Scott were averaging 19 minute 15 second laps while the third place team were averaging 20 minute 28 second laps.

The untested KTM did not seem to bother Blake and the new suspension setting apparently worked fine for Scott. They set very fast, consistent lap times. In fact, Scott's last lap was his third fastest lap of the race. Scott stated that he felt great at the end of the race. Their slowest laps, although still on par with the team racers, were when they pitted.
We are very proud of Blake and Scott for such a great performance. They always have a professional attitude and conduct themselves in a manner that makes us all proud to be associated with them. They were racing in a team race on a track that they were not familiar with and climbed to the top. I don't know if they will be allowed back into Alabama after their finish.

CSR Racing would like to thank the Strickland family for the great support, thanks Wally for great pit stops. Thanks to Mrs. Susan and Mrs. Darlene for the great photos. It's great to have good friends like the Strickland's and Michael and his family. They pitted for Scott and supported him just like they did for Blake. Thanks!

Scott would like to thank his sponsors for their great support. His 450R performed flawlessly. Thanks to Shamrock Honda, Moose Racing, Bearden Race Fuels, Fasst Company, GT Thunder, Big Gun Exhaust, HiPer Technology, IMS Products, EVS Safety Apparel, and ITP Tires.
