SORCS Series Round 4

Round 4 of the SORCS series was held in Durhamtown Plantation up in North Georgia. Durhamtown is a great place to ride and is a beautiful sportsmans resort. But no amount of beauty or vast riding area could overcome the dusty conditions of round 4. The track was so dusty, you couldn't see the track or your competitors.

Even with the dusty, hot conditions, CSR Racing gained valuable points and had a good day.

Scott came off the line in about eighth place but by the time they went into the woods, he was in third. He worked his way into second and then had a battle with someone in another class. After passing the other rider, he set his sites on first. When he came around for the first lap, he was in the lead. Scott had good laps, building on his lead. The biggest problem he had was the massive dust and backmarkers or riders in other classes. With a first place finish, he extended his lead in his class.

This was Cameron's first race on his new '06 TRX450ER. It was bone stock with only some break-in time on it and a Desiri rear linkage. Cam came off the line in 15th place. He fought hard, picking off riders until he found himself in 5th place. On the last lap about 15 feet from the finish he made a last minute pass for 4th. It was a great move and made for some great finish line excitement. This move put him in second place overall in his class. Not bad for a stock bike! The Durhamtown course was probably one of the toughest courses on the series so far. When you factor in the dust and heat, it was a real challenge just to finish. Everyone was tired but happy on the trip back home.
Derek Robinson got 1st place in his class. He charged hard and had a great race. He did have one problem, almost crashing and damaging his collarbone. He busted up his throttle assembly. Sean Callahan finished 2nd in his class. Phil Bearden got another 1st place in his class. Shannon can not shake the bad luck. He had a flat on the first lap of the race. Marty came in second but was having shock problems. Someone mentioned it being a full moon in the pits, whatever that means! Next race will be back in Hiawassee at the Rock Crusher. We just hope they don't have a floor the night before the race!
