SORCS Round 3

CSR Racing Scores big at Monster Mountain
Round 3 of the SORCS Series was held in Tallessee, Alabama. Monster Mountain MX Park was a nice track and the weather was Great! The track included a big Motocross section. It was a true motocross style track which everyone enjoyed. The track was designed by Mark Barnett.

Scott Rogers placed 1st in the Four Stroke B class. Scott had a five and a half minute lead on second place by the end of the race. With lap times in the 18 minute range, he placed second overall. This finish gives him about a 20 point cushion in the series.

Cameron Rogers finished 3rd in the Four Stroke B class. He rode hard all day trying to catch Ty Blair, the second place quad. Cam's lap time are steadily improving and it shows in his standings. Cam is now in a tie for second place in his class behind Scott. We were hoping for a good showing in the series, but with the current standing of 1st and 2nd, the races are getting more exciting and we are looking forward to the next race!

The Georgia Boys really raced great in Alabama. Blake Strickland, in his second race, finished a strong second place. Blake was charging hard and has a really smooth style. Ty Blair took home a 2nd place trophy, and Derek Robinson captured 1st place and 1st overall. Sean Callahan finished 2nd. Phil Bearden took 1st place in his class and Cole finished 2nd. I think about 9 of the guys around where we were pitting took trophies home. No serious injuries, a good trip over and back, it was a great weekend!

The races went off as scheduled and everything was organized perfect. The trip was a real adventure. In Tallassee, we stayed in a downtown Hotel that was built about 75 years ago. It had a period setting and a great restaurant. At this race, we got a little taste of what the summer is going to be like. It was a little warm and dry. A good breeze all day really helped. We are looking forward to round 4, it will be in Georgia and a little closer to home.

SORCS Series Round 2

We survived Round 2!
The ATV race at Hiawassee was a mudfest! Just check out the pictures (are they a mess or what?). It started raining on Saturday night and didn't stop until we arrived at the track. It quit raining for the bike races and started raining again about thirty minutes before the start of the Quad races. Scott and Cam went into survival mode. Knowing that just finishing the race would at least allow them to maintain their points standing. Cam actually gained a spot. Scott maintains the points lead in his class. Scott placed 5th and Cam fell back to eleventh after a good start. The bottlenecks on the track wiped out any chance of a good finish for Cam. Both Scott and Cam raced hard but the thick mud and bottlenecks proved to be a huge challenge.

For the second time in two races, the events started late. It was almost 3:00 PM before the Quads left the starting line! It was 6:15 PM before we were able to leave the track. With a six hour drive ahead of us, in the rain with everyone wet, muddy, tired and hungry, we were not a happy bunch. But that is all behind us now and we are looking forward to Round 3 in Alabama next weekend. We are hoping to make up some points and have good results. I am praying that everything goes OK.

In the Bike class, Phil Bearden placed 1st in his class after pulling the holeshot! Cole Bearden made the trip up to Hiawassee for his first race in a while. After a bad start, he charged to finish 4th in his class. Overall, we had a good weekend, no one got hurt, we had a safe trip up and back and we didn't lose any positions. After a muddy, wet, and long ride back home, and a week of de-mudding everything we are ready for Alabama!
